The tech revolution’s prodigal son is how players will be introduced to Marcus Holloway, a young brilliant hacker who due to falling prey to ctOS 2.0’s algorithms predicting criminal activity finds himself accused of a crime he did not commit. In the quest to take down ctOS 2.0 forever, hacking will be his primary weapon: other than hacking into the city’s infrastructure and triggering unanticipated cascading events by hacking every individual’s personal device as well as any connected one, is within his reach.
The players have the power to hack drones, cars, cranes, security robots and other equipment. They can decide on their approach either use stealth hacking to accomplish missions without any deaths or take an aggressive approach with guns for more intensity. In this expansive open world environment, players navigate through traffic by hacking it, creating high-speed pursuit situations amidst the narrow winding streets in San Francisco or climbing up buildings in technologically advanced Silicon Valley after sneaking through the well-guarded vibrant neighborhoods in Oakland.
