My introduction to Guitar Hero is etched vividly in my memory. Two friends engrossed in a heated debate over one’s ability to play Bark at the Moon blindfolded and behind his head it didn’t strike me then how grave the situation was. Needless to say, I failed to comprehend their silence for weeks when the outcome revealed his incapability.
Unaware of the impending journey I was embarking on, my eyes caught sight of the upcoming release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the PC. Without much thought, I decided to seize the opportunity. I envisioned myself immersed in a rock anthem while seated on a train a plastic guitar connected to a laptop. In my mind’s eye, I saw an approving audience joining me in solidarity with raised metal horns. An order was swiftly placed, and anticipation now filled my days with vibrant hues.
It was a matter of days when a sturdy delivery man showed up with quite a remarkable box that caught my attention. I wasted no time in tearing it open to find a plastic guitar slightly smaller than the actual size along with a set of stickers. His suspicious gaze was fixed on me throughout the process as if questioning my intentions for the peculiar items inside.
